The Late Gothic ‘flamboyant’ style grew stronger during the second half of the 15th century. A fine example of this is the reliquary of Dean João, Canon of the Cathedral of Coimbra and the Prince, D. Pedro’s physician. The entire surface of the piece is inscribed with information that enables his identification.
