Originating from Montemor-o-Velho, this white marble Corinthian capital is densely decorated with acanthus leaves. The ribs of the acanthus are condensed into a single stem, whilst the remaining surface area, including the central rosette, is worked with a trepan, and blends completely into the foliage and the volutes.
