The central motif of this relief is the Paschal Lamb, Agnus Dei, decorated with scrolls of vine-leaves and grapes of ancient Visigothic tradition. Dating from the time of the first king of portugal,
D. Afonso Henriques, it is illustrated in the Apocalypse of Lorvão and is considered to be one of the masterpieces of the Coimbra Romanesque school. It may have belonged to the early church of S. Miguel de Milreus (S. Salvador), although it is equally likely to have come from the cathedral of Coimbra.
