This retable, from the Corpus Christi chapel located in the centre of the Jewish quarter, consists of a single rectangular slab used as a background for a scene in relief where two kneeling angels raise the Eucharistic chalice with the Host, representing the crucified Christ. It is interesting to note that when the sculptor, João Afonso, dated his works he sometimes included an inscription mentioning the patron of the the piece, in this case, Álvaro Fernandez de Carvalho: «Senetica : corpos : d[omi]ni : mº : ccccº : xxxx : iij : alu[ar]o f[e]r[nande]z : de : carvalho o mandou fazer».
