This fragment of white silk fabric embroidered with silk thread of various hues and gold paper-laminated thread, probably came from China. It belonged to the Mosteiro do Lorvão and was adapted to be a frontal cloth for the altar or pulpit. The lateral borders of damask were added later. The embroidery, of exceptional quality, presents an array of exotic oriental flora and fauna.
